Manila, Philippines – eight out of ten Filipinos have a positive view on the Duterte Administration in regards on its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Pulse Asia survey.
According to Pulse Asia’s Ulat ng Bayan Survey last
September 2020, 84% of Filipinos have a positive opinion and approve of the governments
work on containing the spread of the COVID-19 virus and assisting individuals
who lost their jobs due to the pandemic.
On the other hand, the Duterte administration only earned a
single digit disapproval rating on the survey on containing the said virus and
pandemic. There are 6% of Filipinos disapprove in controlling the virus, 7% are
the ones that lost their jobs on the pandemic. There are 9% and 10% Filipinos
who are undecided about the Duterte Administration’s effort in controlling the
spread of the virus and on helping Filipinos who are affected by the virus.

The result of the survey, 92% corresponds that the Duterte Administration did a good job in controlling the virus in terms of prevention and giving aid to those in need and affected by the pandemic. The rest of the respondents on the survey either disapprove the performance of the government or expresses indecision regarding the matter. The survey was conducted by Pulse Asia from September 14 to 20, 2020. It was based on a sample of 1,200 adult representative with age range 18 years old and above and has a plus 2.8% error of margin at the 95% assurance level.
