The South Korean actress Son Ye Jin is still humble after
being a superstar not just in her country, but also in the Philippines and the
rest of the world.
In an interview facilitated by SMART, Monday, August 3. Son
Ye Jin said “There’s nothing special about me. In front of the camera, I’m
always in character with the given role so I tend to stick to it.”She added,
“But behind the camera, I think I’m just ordinary. I’m the same person as you,
guys.”
It was early this year when Ye Jin became so popular in
other countries and reached the hearts of many after starring in the hit
romantic comedy K-drama series “Crash Landing On You”, with co-artist Hyun Bin.
Ye Jin has also played or starred in other K-drama series, including Endless
Love Summer Scent (2003), Personal Taste (2010), and Something In The Rain
(2018). She also starred in a movie titled “The Negotiation” also with Hyun
Bin.
She has even received more than 10 acting awards in her
20-year career. One of the most notable award she received was her Best Actress
at the Beaksang Arts Awards, year 2017. Beaksang Arts Awards is one of the most
prestigious awards ceremonies in their country South Korea.
When she asked to give some piece of advice to
aspiring young stars who are starting their careers, Son Ye Jin humbly said, “
Well, I’m not sure If I already succeeded…” But success, according to her
starts with having a goal.
She also added “I think young people who just started not
only in acting, but also in other fields, are going to be scared and experience
hardships. Same as my experience. But it helps that I’ve set a goal. And even
if reality is not close to that goal, just try your best to imagine yourself in
that future and make the best out of everything. Then think of it as a step closer to your dreams.
Keep fighting.”
The 38-year-old actress said, she is really
happy to shoot for an advertisement for a Philippine brand and happier because
it’s SMART. Hyun Bin was also release this year as the new Ambassador of SMART.
Hopefully, Ye Jin and Hyun Bin can fly here in the country to meet the fans,
after COVID-19 pandemic subsides.
